First of all, this is my original character, Zephyr. She's a dragon with a metal affinity (earth). Although Zephyr can fly, she has no wind attributes, and therefore needs ridiculously huge wings to be able to lift herself off the ground. Ironically, her name means "west wind."


Zephyr's scales are composed of frozen mercury mixed with other alloys and metals, creating a sharp, jagged edge to every single one. They flake off when they become old and blunt. Touching any of her scales causes extreme frostbite, and can cause many materials to corrode on contact.

The sharpened mercury on her neck, back, tail, and claws are honed blades that can cut through nearly anything, with the exception of diamond. Zephyr eats ores and metals, and instead of excreting them she diffuses these ores into her body, and uses them to fortify her scales.

Instead of breathing fire, like other dragons, Zephyr breathes liquid nitrogen. To prevent herself from freezing and becoming immobile, she has two different "systems" in her body; one controls blood flow (her blood is liquid mercury) and the other controls the liquid nitrogen.

Her scales are an example of these two separate systems; Mercury (Hg), which has a freezing point of -38 degrees C, only freezes below this level. While her body temperature is -37 degrees C, her scales measure a temperature of -100 degrees C. If Zephyr did not have two body systems, her blood would freeze and she would die.

She is vulnerable to extreme heat temperatures, with the exception of dragon fire, as she is immune to it. As she only stands 3m tall, other dragons can easily overpower her if they can get past her knife-like scales and dense body.
