The Courtyard Do you ever get the feeling something odd and strange is going to happen sometime in the near future? That’s the feeling I had when I arrived at school this morning. Somnium Spiritusby =FallenZephyr

Traditional Art / Drawings / Fantasy

"Somnium Spiritus", meaning "dream spirit" in Latin.

This is a conceptual piece of Fallen, influenced by the works of the amazing ~Isvoc. I completely freehanded this, which means I drew right on the page with ink and didn't use any pencil to draw a sketch or guides to help with proportion. It was more challenging than my usual works since I always use pencil to sketch what I want first.

The black wisps represent her wings while the blue wisps represent her hair. If you look closely, you can see that I've also snuck in the 12 astrological signs of the zodiac. My scanner completely destroyed the subtle purples, so I had to add it in myself using layer masks in Photoshop. SCANNER Y U NO SCAN PURPLES PROPERLY
